Resilience

This blog started as a message to my adult children (as much of my blogging is an attempt to share with them my reflections and suggestions based upon a life of experience from which I hope that they might benefit from long after I’m gone)

That said, this theme of RESILIENCE is a broader message to the rest of us….as in the USA.

No matter what happens personally or nationally, it’s my observation that RESILIENCE is the key to staying the course and moving beyond to bigger and better.

Over the Easter Holiday I had “the talk” with my adult children. Not the talk about where babies come from but “the talk” that tells them that no matter what the future holds and no matter what trials and tribulations they experience, DO NOT let that get them off track and get the better of them.

Just because there are curve balls and setbacks in life (and there surely will occur, sometimes in quick and devastating succession), be RESILIENT. It’s ok to be sad and depressed for a while but don’t let it fester and become a life-long funk.

Our ancestors had plenty of set backs and tragedies but they forged on and so can you.

As for the rest of us…..the USA…..dark clouds are gathering but likewise RESILIENCE is essential if the storm is to be weathered. Adaptability and resiliency are the keys to survival personally and nationally.
