The Little Mall That Could…

I think I can redevelop, I think I can redevelop!!

There once was a mall in the town of Trumbull.

A place where youths would rumble

Friday night fights would begin

Curfews slowed them down

But a new enemy came to town

Amazon was his name and online was his game

Sales tumbled and retailers stumbled

Potholes got deeper, balance sheets got bleaker

Children were sad

They could not visit their grandad

He moved far away

The taxes he could not pay

As this senior was walking, he started talking

He mentioned a dream

He envisioned a tent where he spent his last days

Driving no more now living by a store

Grandchildren to keep after, a lawn was no longer his master

More seniors, more tents, more walking, more talking

Money was spent, fun was had

Children were no longer sad

Was it a dream?

Could it happen?

Only time will tell if all works out well
